Daniel, Owner
Daniel Brass, owner and "head runner", has worked in the running specialty market for almost a decade. Fitting thousands of runners over the years, he has seen every foot type and successfully fit runners of all skill levels in great running/walking shoes. From his extensive experience, Daniel's goal is to make the Black Dog Running Company one of the best running stores in the country. He will strive to always exceed the expectations of the local running community, while continuously growing and learning through listening to customers in the Myrtle Beach area.
Daniel grew up with a basketball background but turned to running more during college. He has been running for over 18 years, completed numerous marathons and 13.1s. He most recently completed his first Ultra (50K).
Heather,
Part-time Help/Full-time Support
Heather Caplan Brass is Daniel's very supportive wife of his crazy running habit and his dream to open the store : )
Heather is a well respected and accomplished Equine Veterinarian who practices in the area.
She is a Triathlete and runner herself, who has run in numerous races and is currently training for a Half-Ironman distance triathlon. Heather is very much dedicated to the Cross fit lifestyle, through fitness and proper diet. Heather is a level I certified Crossfit Coach and coaches weekly at Crossfit Myrtle Beach.
Guinness, "The Black Dog/Store Mascot"
Guinness’s relentless and futile chasing of squirrels (his sworn enemy) in our backyard is the inspiration of the store name and logo. He is often at the store, taking a nap behind the counter and greeting all people willing to give him a friendly pet : )
Velo, aka "The White Dog"
Velo usually "works" in the shop one or two days a week. By "work" I mean rolling over for belly rubs and foraging for snacks : )
Look for her to be holding down the fort on our world famous
White Dog Wednesdays.
