We believe a customized program is better than a generic program and that a coach is a trusted partner in your quest to become better. We believe all runners deserve the same personal attention and expert advice; whether going for your first 5K to qualifying for the Boston Marathon. As a result, we offer two programs for runners like you – Personal Coaching and Group Training Teams.  All BDRC Coaches have years of personal running experience and have worked with countless runners. We are also Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Certified Running Coaches, USA Track and Field (USATF) Certified Running Coaches; CPR and First Aid Certified; Insured and Bonded.


$100 per month 

 Included with Personal Coaching:

  • 30 minute consultation to discuss goals and training
  • Unlimited communication via text, email, social media
  • Facebook group page
  • Specific training plan created for you based on your goals, days to run, etc.
  • Daily training plan 
  • Constant evaluation and feedback of workouts
  • Ability to restructure training plan due to sickness, travel, etc.
  • Detailed race plan based on your target race, weather, elevation, etc.
  • In depth direction for fueling, cross training, general nutrition (not like a nutritionist but based on personal experiences), strength workouts, running form, and much more
  • 30 minute pre-race meeting (1-2 weeks before target race)
  • Post-race tips for recovery
  • 10% Discount at BDRC during training session


$50-$160 (cost varies based on length of program) We offer 5k, 10k, half and full marathon options for the Myrtle Beach Marathon Weekend, Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon, etc.

At Black Dog Running Company, our goal is simply to help you run better. For some, this is running without pain or injury. For others, it’s running faster. Or a little farther. Or with more enjoyment. We think running better is all of these things and the discussion needs to go beyond just the gear we wear.

We are focused on discussing the things that actually matter in helping you improve performance and reduce injury rates. Yes, footwear is important, but just as important is your running form, your training intensity, your recovery and at-home PT, and your nutrition. When you come into our store, we will address all these factors as well as your running goals to help you get on the road injury free and with more ease and efficiency.

With this in mind, we offer the following clinics:

Good Form Running Clinic:

Free running form clinics are offered periodically during the year. Visit our official Facebook page for the next clinic date and to RSVP.

During each session, a BDRC coach will discuss principles of natural running form, foot strength and stability, training intensity, and footwear.  These clinics are free and open to the to public, just show up and be ready to interact/move. Clinics last for about an hour.

Running REFINE Clinic:

During your REFINE clinic session, you will receive personal one-on-one attention from one of the BDRC Coaches concerning getting back to the basics of running including proper warm-up, cool down, and how to improve your running form. The REFINE clinic lasts 90 minutes. Participants need to dress for a workout, bring a water bottle, yoga mat or thick towel, and foam roller. Clinic sessions subject to coach availability. You can bring 1-2 additional people to share your session.
